March is always a month when we have a lot of mixed conditions. It´s been windy and warm lately with occasional rain showers. More snow is around the corner as we´re filling up The Ascent Descent Ski Lodge in Lyngen with guides and groups. The best time of the year for skiing in the Lyngen alps has started and we´re not stopping until June and summer arrives.

Opening week here in the Lyngen alps and AscentDescent Ski Lodge Lyngen. A lot of good skiing but also mixed weather. Early in the week we had some calm days but this weekend the wind has started to pick up. As usual we get a lot of mixed weather in the Lyngen alps and Tromsø this time of the year. Last weeks has been exceptional with lot´s of heavy storms and avalanche activity. Sticking to low angled skiing up high or tree skiing down low has been the key and the snow has been amazing. We´ve had a few days of sun in between lately and being out guiding in the sun after weeks of heavy snowfall is almost unrealistic. The season at AscentDescent Ski Lodge in the Lyngen alps is about to start, opening the doors on the 1st of March.

The fall is a fantastic but short period in the Lyngen alps and we usually get some snow in the mountains already in the end of September. This year we still have dry conditions as we speak but there has been some sprinkles of snow up high. The winter is knocking on the door and our mega long ski season is about to start. Please start planning your ski touring vacation to the Lyngen alps in time. The AscentDescent ski guiding season in the Lyngen alps starts in February and ends in June. Before that we normally go for an exotic ski trip somewhere and provide ski touring and ice climbing around Tromsø.

Summer is just around the corner and we start off with a well deserved vacation after a hectic ski season in The Lyngen alps. Our summer activities this summer will start from the 10 of July. We will have hiking day tours in Tromsø and Lyngen, guided alpine and rock climbing for all levels and visit the alpine peaks in the Lyngen alps and more… We offer mountain activities for all levels and needs this summer so please check the web page for updates regarding the different activities. May have been a great month in The Lyngen alps with fantastic skiing and this weekend we closed the ski season in Nord Lenangen. A very busy season and a lot of mixed conditions rounded of with a few days of skiing with friends, guides and groups. We went all out with boat rides, late nights and good times with a great crew from Gothenburg. Even having a few friends invited for the jacuzzi and dinner made this night feel special. Now it´s time for some more work in the wild mountains of The Lyngen peninsula and we´re going camping. Thank´s for a great season everyone and a special thank´s to the family of Eikrem who have supported me and AscentDescent for 8 years now. Together we have created a cutting edge ski concept in the Lyngen alps that will last for years to come. Also a big hug to the guides who´ve been delivering safe and fun tours to our clients from all over the world. 7 Blåner and Dynafit have been supporting with outstanding equipment, clothing and world class service throughout the season and deserves a big hug for that!
