The ski touring in Lyngen is truly something special and makes people coming back, over and over again. Fantastic Couloirs, great airy summits, big faces, small faces gentle slopes, Lyngen has something for everyone. Having a sea view when skiing every day is something natural for us and very exotic. The season in the lyngen alps starts in the beginning of March and lasts until the beginning of June!
So to be sure that you get the right dates, send a request for available dates. We plan the trip together to make sure you get the right experience. The booking has started and normaly it get’s filled up around new years.
In the beginning of the winter we are based in Chamonix so you’re more than welcome to come offpiste skiing and ski touring with us in the alps.

After a rough evening at the Blårock bar in Tromsø, watching three live bands and hurting the ears quite badly, we decided to go to the classic west couloir of Ellendaltinden in the southern Lyngen. Together with Morgan Sahlen, Magnus Eriksson and Henrik Sjöblom we had a nice day out in a spectacular setting. Hoping to climb the peak we had to see ourselves beaten. Steep rock with wet soft snow on top didn’t match our plans today. Morgan just back from winning the Nordic freeskiing championships in Riksgränsen (telemark) showed us how to ski this couloir, making changing conditions look easy! 40 degrees at the most and 700 meters of sustained skiing. And a first class boot pack ofcourse… Cheers guys!

This striking line in The Lyngen alps is easy to spot from the northern shore of Kjosen. In the new guidebook it’s called “the mother of all couloirs” and it´s really hard to miss since it’s a 800m straight couloir surrounded by rocky walls. Going with my friend Leif Holen from Tromsø we found easy conditions for boot packing but not so nice conditions for the skiing. The snow didn’t soften enough to be a nice ski but still, we did ski most of it except taking off skis for 10m traversing an icy funnel. The couloir is most of the time around 40 degrees and just get’s a few degrees steeper towards the top. Great to be up there after years of looking at it! Last week I picked up four Swedish skiers at the airport in Tromsö. Our first stop was The Magic Lyngen Lodge in Lyngseidet where we stayed for 4 nights. After that we moved camp to the south of Lyngen and stayed in Lakselvbukt for 3 nights followed by a night in Tromsö city.
The sun refused to leave the skies, the summits went higher and the boys appetite for more just kept on going. Skiing from many classic peaks in great weather and conditions was a true Lyngen experience for everyone. Balggesvarri, Russelvfjellet, Fastdalstinden, Rörnestinden, Goalsevarri, Middagstinden, Holmbukttinden and Daltinden, 8000 vertical metres in 7 days was good enough for most of us but Rickard (aka touring machine) saw his dream 10000 metres fade away… Hope we get the chance to fix that the next time Rickard. The last two of weeks has been a mix of organizing a skitouring/downhill comp in Tromsø and guiding. Worked with security and route planning for the competition the last week of April followed by a week of ski touring in Lyngen. The Swedish outdoor association has been visiting for 5 years straight now and last week we managed to get lot’s of nice skiing in good weather. The newly opened Magic Mountain Lodge in Lyngseidet was our base for the last week and served us good food and warm atmosphere. Staying here right now as well with a new group of motivated skiers…

Celebrating the Easter holidays with a happy bunch from Holland and this was the second year they came for a visit. Skiing for six days together starting out in a blizzard but the weather changed and we had good conditions in general through the whole week. Kavringtinden, Taffeltinden, Russelvfjellet and more peaks got visited and the hot sauna was waiting with a smile… So did the arctic sea for the swimmers:)
