This striking line in The Lyngen alps is easy to spot from the northern shore of Kjosen. In the new guidebook it’s called “the mother of all couloirs” and it´s really hard to miss since it’s a 800m straight couloir surrounded by rocky walls. Going with my friend Leif Holen from Tromsø we found easy conditions for boot packing but not so nice conditions for the skiing. The snow didn’t soften enough to be a nice ski but still, we did ski most of it except taking off skis for 10m traversing an icy funnel. The couloir is most of the time around 40 degrees and just get’s a few degrees steeper towards the top. Great to be up there after years of looking at it!
