Today we went guiding ice climbing close to the city of Tromsø. Great activity for the early winter here in Tromsø and it´s a good way being active in the outdoors at the moment. Lot´s of big snowfalls lately but with snow shoes it takes about 15 min to reach the ice falls. You don´t need to have previous climbing experience to join us for a day and we offer these tours on a daily basis.
In Tromsø we provide ice climbing instruction and guiding in December – February. Send an e-mail for booking and availability.

October is almost here and that´s when we get most of our requests and bookings for the Lyngen ski touring season. For 7 years we´ve been fully booked in the main season and for this winter we see the tendency of skiers who want to come already in mid february to experience the northern lights in combination with ski touring.
Booking for the Ascent Descent Ski Lodge in Nord Lenangen includes boat accessed skiing this winter as well and as usual we provide guides for day or multiple daytours in the area.
Tip! This year we also have a ski touring and avalanche course program running in Tromsø from early winter…
Todays climb on Zappfe egga near Tromsø was a good start of this summer´s guiding out of Tromsø, Norway. We will be based in our home town Tromsø for the rest of the summer and guiding in the mountains surrounding the Island. A great week is ended here in Lyngen and it was a very nice finish of this fantastic ski season. Having three students and one visiting aspirant guide doing his final practice with us made this week a truly good experience for everyone. Starting off with camping and avalanche training and moving into steeper adventures as the days moved on… Couloir skiing, Glacier travel, navigation, rope works and climbing steep snow. Lyngen is fantastic in early summer and normaly we have snow lower down but this spring has been unusually warm and sunny. This week was also warm and sunny but it was all to the better for us. Enjoying midnight sun, epic spring skiing and good atmosphere all week made this week a special one. Thanks to all!
Summer is moving in here and a well deserved family vacation awaits on the doorstep…

Opening the doors here in Nord-Lenangen last sunday and so far it’s been a great start of the season. Lot’s of snow, pretty cold, nice people and good skiing. Every morning when waking up we have 20cm of fresh snow outside and today we had good visibility as well! Stepping carefully at the moment since we have avalanche danger out here but there is plenty of tours wich can be done anyway. With a packed program this winter and lot’s of new stuff going on we welcome all of you who have booked tours with us in the Lyngen Alps. See you soon! Jimmy
