October is the month when we often get the first proper snow falls in The Lyngen alps and some years we start the ski touring way before christmas. It´s a good time to prepare for the main season and our ski touring weeks in the Lyngen alps starts in the end of February. We still have available weeks through the season so please get in touch to get your dates in the calendar. Our ski touring weeks is the complete Lyngen experience with local food, private guiding, boat rides and a relaxed stay at the Ascent Descent Ski Lodge. All groups and levels are welcomed to ski with our locally experienced and certified guides and enjoy the magical scenery of the Lyngen alps. Please send a mail from our contact page to get your dates for 2016! Best Regards / Jimmy Halvardsson IFMGA Mountainguide at Ascent Descent “The Lyngen Mountain Guides”

Finishing of the Lyngen skitouring season with a great ski weekend at the AscentDescent Ski Lodge in The Lyngen alps. Last weekend of May has been our season finisher for years now even if guiding continues in the range from other locations. Guiding non stop in the Lyngen alps from late February to early June makes for a great summer vacation and preparing for a new season.

At the moment we have some of the best days of the season here in the Lyngen alps. Hard to find good powder skiing but the entire range is a playground with stable snow and fantastic spring skiing in the sun. Enjoying fantastic days at the AscentDescent Ski Lodge in Lyngen and even if we have a pretty shallow snow pack in places the cold nights is saving the rest of the season. 2016 is getting filled up as we speak and it´s really fun that 10 years of hard work is paying off!

March is always a month when we have a lot of mixed conditions. It´s been windy and warm lately with occasional rain showers. More snow is around the corner as we´re filling up The Ascent Descent Ski Lodge in Lyngen with guides and groups. The best time of the year for skiing in the Lyngen alps has started and we´re not stopping until June and summer arrives.

The fall is a fantastic but short period in the Lyngen alps and we usually get some snow in the mountains already in the end of September. This year we still have dry conditions as we speak but there has been some sprinkles of snow up high. The winter is knocking on the door and our mega long ski season is about to start. Please start planning your ski touring vacation to the Lyngen alps in time. The AscentDescent ski guiding season in the Lyngen alps starts in February and ends in June. Before that we normally go for an exotic ski trip somewhere and provide ski touring and ice climbing around Tromsø.
