October is the month when we often get the first proper snow falls in The Lyngen alps and some years we start the ski touring way before christmas. It´s a good time to prepare for the main season and our ski touring weeks in the Lyngen alps starts in the end of February. We still have available weeks through the season so please get in touch to get your dates in the calendar. Our ski touring weeks is the complete Lyngen experience with local food, private guiding, boat rides and a relaxed stay at the Ascent Descent Ski Lodge. All groups and levels are welcomed to ski with our locally experienced and certified guides and enjoy the magical scenery of the Lyngen alps. Just back from guiding on the highest peak in The Lyngen alps, Jiehkkevarri 1884m. The summit plateu consists of big glaciers and in order to get to the top you traverse over three neighbouring summits. A great experience which do not involve that much technical climbing but it´s steep hiking in places and it´s a proper alpine experience.
Now is also the time to start planning next winters skiing in the Lyngen alps. Our ski touring program with boat accessed ski touring is getting more and more popular. Finishing of the Lyngen skitouring season with a great ski weekend at the AscentDescent Ski Lodge in The Lyngen alps. Last weekend of May has been our season finisher for years now even if guiding continues in the range from other locations. Guiding non stop in the Lyngen alps from late February to early June makes for a great summer vacation and preparing for a new season.

May is here and one of the finest periods in the Lyngen alps. AscentDescent Ski Lodge is filled up to the end of the season and lately we´ve had a great mix of visitors enjoying some fantastic spring skiing. Great team from Gothenburg last week who probably made the highest score of the season when it comes to good weather and conditions. Just finished a few days with a pro skier team from Sweden and Finland enjoying the Lyngen couloirs! New groups rolling in tonight…

Vi er nå på vei mot et nytt år og nye eventyr. For AscentDescent “The Lyngen Mountainguides”vil hverdagen i 2014 handle om å tilby gode kurs i fjellet, skiuker i Lyngsalpene og små og store eventyr i fjellene i Troms sommer som vinter. I 2013 fikk vi på plass et kontor i Sjøgata 14 og et samarbeid med Tromsø Outdoor på utstyr og aktiviteter. Med utgangspunkt i Tromsø kan vi nå tilby alle våre aktiviteter for lokale og tilreisende.
Vi fikk også på plass et kanontilbud for skigjestene i Lyngen med Ribbåt, uslåelig location, høy standard på overnatting og alt som skal til for å få ut maksimalt av Lyngenferien på ski. Dette er en videreutvikling av et samarbeid som vokst over tid og med medlemskap i Reise Garanti Fondet har vi større muligheter å tilby pakketurer for våre kunder.
Nytt for 2014 er også at vi har et samarbeid med Dynafit som hovedsponsor. Dynafit lager noe av det beste toppturutstyret som finnes på markedet og dette er vi såklart stolte av!
