Spring has arrived in the Lyngen alps even if the conditions often is like winter up high. At Ascent Descent “The Lyngen Mountains Guides” we´ve had a record season in many ways. We´ve had more bookings than before, more skiing by boat and the worst weather season ever in The Lyngen alps. It´s been plenty of good mountain memories and good skiing but all those days with clear blue sky that we are used to has been reduced this winter. The good thing is that we still have a good snow pack and are ready for the good days that comes with the calmer spring season. We keep on going to the 31st of May out here in Nord Lenangen in the Northern Lyngen alps. So for us it´s still mid season!

Opening the Ascent Descent ski lodge in Lyngen for the spring with a boat tour to Arnøya. Yesterday night we also enjoyed watching the stars and aurora borealis from the jacuzzi so we could not ask for more really. Todays skiing was pretty good considering the snowpack we have at the moment. Lot´s of hard snow over the area but two days ago we had a snowfall which covered pretty good here and there and made our ski today pleasant.

På Torsdag 6 februari kjører vi igang enda et toppturkurs og det er bare å melde seg på. Vi samles klokken 18.00 på guidekontoret i Sjøgata 14 i Tromsø for gjennomgang av det mest nødvendige i forhold til toppturer på ski.
Det er også muligheter for å melde seg på toppturkurs del 2 på lørdag. Kursene er frittstående så det går helt fint å starte hvor som helst.
Vi er nå på vei mot et nytt år og nye eventyr. For AscentDescent “The Lyngen Mountainguides”vil hverdagen i 2014 handle om å tilby gode kurs i fjellet, skiuker i Lyngsalpene og små og store eventyr i fjellene i Troms sommer som vinter. I 2013 fikk vi på plass et kontor i Sjøgata 14 og et samarbeid med Tromsø Outdoor på utstyr og aktiviteter. Med utgangspunkt i Tromsø kan vi nå tilby alle våre aktiviteter for lokale og tilreisende.
Vi fikk også på plass et kanontilbud for skigjestene i Lyngen med Ribbåt, uslåelig location, høy standard på overnatting og alt som skal til for å få ut maksimalt av Lyngenferien på ski. Dette er en videreutvikling av et samarbeid som vokst over tid og med medlemskap i Reise Garanti Fondet har vi større muligheter å tilby pakketurer for våre kunder.
Nytt for 2014 er også at vi har et samarbeid med Dynafit som hovedsponsor. Dynafit lager noe av det beste toppturutstyret som finnes på markedet og dette er vi såklart stolte av!

AscentDescent “The Lyngen Mountain Guides” have been specialized on the ski touring in the Lyngen alps for years know and when booking a ski week with us you get the full Lyngen experience. For 2014 we have a boat waiting in the harbor near the lodge, great accommodation with lot´s of space for up to 8 people and great dinners for hungry skiers. We work with private groups up to 8 people and we are located in one of the most beautiful areas in the Lyngen alps with great skiing just outside the door. We still have a few weeks available for booking so there is still a chance of joining our tours for 2014!

From our base in Nord-Lenangen we have the best logistics available for skiing in the lyngen alps. Relaxing jacuzzi or wood fired sauna in the evening and great food!
