We have just entered the high season in the Lyngen alps and great snow conditions arrived with it. Yesterday was a big powder experience when weather cleared after days of constant snow fall.
The AscentDescent ski lodge concept that we operate together with Lyngsalpan Cruise has also grown and we present high standard accommodation in Lyngen and ski packages for multiple groups the whole season. All groups have their own private chalet and guide and it looks like interested groups should start making plans for 2017 all ready. Fully booked this season, except for some weeks in late May, and it looks like the ski touring in The Lyngen alps is growing for every year.
Storgalten is a great calssic in the Lyngen alps and we are happy to such a great mountain just outside the doorstep. Photo: Jimmy Halvardsson
Skiing down from this epic summit yesterday was one of the best we´ve had. Counting endless skiing on this mountain over a period of 12 years. Photo: Jimmy Halvardsson
Ok, word is out… A new chalet just popped up and was ready some weeks ago. Presenting full package ski weeks since many years now but with our new chalet and sauna department we´ve also managed to expand to meet increased popularity of the area and on our company and tours. Photo: Jimmy Halvardsson
May is here and this often means calmer weather, long days and good opportunities to reach the higher summits of the lyngen alps. The Ascent Descent Ski Lodge is fully booked until mid May but after that we have a few spots for the ones seeking good spring skiing in the lyngen alps. Lately we´ve been lucky to go a bit steeper with good snow and safe conditions. This season will stretch into June due to the last few snowfalls and colder temperatures. Skiing by boat with Ascent Descent “The Lyngen Mountain Guides ” will be possible until the 31st of May! Cheers / Jimmy Halvardsson
We skied one of the couloirs close to the lodge the other day as a afternoon additional. Great day out with two spectacular runs! Selfie: Jimmy Halvardsson
The Happy bunch from London experienced a lot of weather last week. The winds calmed down this weekend and we are happy for that. Photo: Jimmy Halvardsson
After three weeks of touring here in the lyngen alps the really good conditions finally arrived. Last week the “Willis bunch” from scotland got some mixed weather with some nice days in between the snow and rain showers. This week, with the swedish “friluftsfrämjandet”, have been blessed with some of the best snow I’ve skied and clear blue skies. Yesterday we did one of my absolute favourite tours out here in Nord-Lenangen. Ruossavarri 816m at the tip of the lyngen peninsula held some great powder slopes with views from another world. Arrived by boat from the east side we made a traverse of the peninsula and skied great powder. Two days ago we skied the ultra classics Storgalten 1219m and lille galten 836m in epic powder..
Welcome to our base in Nord Lenangen, one of the top locations in the Lyngen alps!
Niklas and Uffe on the Norther tip of Lyngen, just breathing is enough some times..
Powder all the way to the summit.
Skiing the slopes with full value in every turn.
