The ski season is still alive here and it´s seems to last for some time still.. Looking back at one of the best winters we´ve ever had here in Lyngen, we now get spoiled by this unforgettable spring. Yes summer is almost here but the snowpack is still as good as it get´s in the mountains. There is still some ski mountaineering to be done before we stop guiding on skis here and for those wondering where to put their last ski motivation a tour to the summit of Jiehkkevarri is always a good season finish. This summer we will trek and climb in Lyngen and Tromsø and just send an request on the contact form and we take care of it!

The spring came and we´ve enjoyed fantastic spring skiing lately. The Lyngen alps is at it´s best in the spring and this year we continue guiding until mid June. The high summits are now well filled in after endless snowfalls this winter and the ski mountaineering season looks like it´s gonna be one of the best years for a long time. New for this summer is also our alpine climbing and Trekking weeks in the Lyngen alps and we hope it´s gonna be as popular as our ski weeks!

Finally the spring decided to arrive in The Lyngen alps. Roads clear from ice and snow, warm temperatures and spring snow skiing. It always feels a bit sad when you realize that the ski season has an end and the spring is the first thing that reminds you about it. The spring is long enough here so it´s not over until mid June though… Last week guiding was great with a mix of boat trips, ski mountaineering and powder skiing.
This week we are back in Tromsø for the Skittentind Rando Competition providing avalanche control work, route planning and so on.

From this season we provide ski by boat trips to our groups and it´s an amazing combination. Today we went to Uløya, located east of the Lyngen alps and from our base in Nord-Lenangen it takes about 40 min to get there. The old village of Havnes is well kept and it´s well worth the visit. The ski touring is great on the 1100m Kjelvågtinden just above the harbor.

It´s just snowing every day this season and we are really happy about it! In between the snow showers we get clearings with good weather and it´s just like a never ending snowy story.

In Nord-Lenangen in the Lyngen alps the snow gods has been giving us days and days with the white stuff.. Hard wind now and then but in general the ski touring is fantastic. As alway the visibility comes and goes here, even in the worst of weather, so just being out on the mountain normaly pays off! A couple of weeks since last update here but we have been out on the mountain daily since then and it´s been good times… The conditions does not really allow us to go in very steep terrain at the moment but skiing powder is always fun!
