Ski Week chamonix

Had a great last week of the alp season together with Benne, Henrik, Mattias and Martin from Sweden. We skied at the Grand montets, Aguilles du midi, Aguilles Rouges and Cormayeur this week and managed to a bit of skitouring as well. Thanks guys for a great week.. Now I’m of to Norway and the skitouring season in the Lyngen alps.

Col du Belvedere

Skiing the col du Belvedere today with John Minogue and Eva Eskilsson. Started off at Flegere gondola hoping for some powder skiing from the lifts. The conditions where not as expected so we started the tour to Belvedere right away. The wind had made some small steeper slopes a bit loaded on the traverse to Lac blanc but the snow felt good to the col. Surprisingly good conditions on the steep north facing slopes leading to the Berard valley. Finished in Buet at 11.30..

Nice day for skitouring…

Stian Hagen was going to Encrenaz and gave us company in the morning.

Glacier Rond

Skiing the glacier rond today with Niklas, Jens and Eva. Previous nights precipitation and wind had really done a good job. Getting fresh trax on the rond and exit colouir. The high traverse was a bit loaded from wind but finding the old track back to the tunnel face helped…

Aguillette les Houches

Skitouring and offpiste skiing together with Eva today. Starting with a couple of runs from Brevent before skiing south towards Aguillette les houches in great powder. Skinning up through perfect powder and felt a bit sorry to not ski the same way back actually. The south face of the aguillette surprised with good snow aswell and made a great traverse of the massif south of Brevent.

Photo sessions

I’ve spent the last two days with Swedish photographer Fredrik Schenholm, taking photos for next winters Tierra catalog. Me, Fredrik Ericsson and Ulrika Asp have been actors in the great surroundings of Chamonix, taking ski and climbing pictures. It’s really been a pleasure to hang around with these guys for some days and we probably managed to get some good photos for next year as well!!

Aguille Rouges

Great weather in Chamonix at the moment and today me and Andreas Fransson went on a little adventure trip in the Aguilles Rouges massif. Traversing some of the main cols. Croucheus, Col du Dard (from the north side via a couloir and exposed ridge), down towards lac blanc and up to col du beaugeant, down the north face in wind packed snow and up through col du encrenaz. Skiing down to le Buet we found some great snow in the couloir to the road and on the last magic open field. Great day!

Marbrees/Entreves

Ski mountaineering today and arriving with Peje and Eva in La Palud at 8.15. Got the first cablecar and had pretty windy conditions on top. Hiking around the Aguille Marbrees and finding good conditions on the Marbrees. A little bit crusty at times but still one of the great classics of the Mont blanc region with clear blue skies and great skiing for 2000 vertical metres.
Had a nice stop for coffee at the bottom at 10.15 before starting the skinning and climbing up to Entreves at 3600m. Had the best skiing of the day on the top slopes before reaching the toule glacier. Skiing all the way to the bottom on a run wich gives 2300 m vertical. Great day for sure and after days like this you just whant more and more of it!

Great powder day in italy

Today I had a great day on Helbronner with Eva, Sandra and Peje. We skied untracked powder, punched through heavy snow on traverses (great for the followers) and had a great coffee in the nice cafe’ at the bottom of the lift. Like so many times in these areas you can ski stuff that you haven’t skied before and this day was no exception. Looks great for tomorrow with cold stable weather and lot’s of powder. See you out there!

Le Tour

Bon Jour! After a great day i’m in for a restday and have some time to share the experiences… Starting off in early hours from Chamonix, yesterday, we had some really cold temperatures up in Vallorcine. Wolfgang, Eva, Steph and myself had a great skiday in Le Tour/Trient with good snow, cold chair lifts and great weather. Wolfie who is the undisputed god of Le Tour showed us around on some great runs!

Checking conditions in the couloirs leading down to the Swiss village of Trient

It’s always a great feeling in Trient and even better on a cold and clear winterday

Wolfgang and myself resting at the bus stop in Trient

We skied the couloirs of L’Arollette in untracked powder a couple of times before the Trient runs. Check our tracks in the couloirs!

Heliskiing in Trient

Yesterday I whent heliskiing in Switzerland with Asmus Norreslet and his clients at Norreslet Mountaineering. Two rotations up to the Trient Glacier and from there we whent skitouring up to Glacier Grand. Due to wind effected snow we traversed over to Glacier Bron and had a great time in soft snow. Finishing of in the Trient village.

Skitouring below Aguille du Tour.
