Ski touring in The Lyngen Alps means alot of different weather. Rain, snow, sun, warm, cold, wind etc.. You normaly get the full package on a week of touring here. The list of things to pack can be long but really doesn’t have to be…
Look at the list below and try to pack your backpack at home before arrival:
- Daypack 30-40 L
- Long underwear and socks
- Fleece or softshell jacket
- Wind/waterproof jacket and pants (Gore-tex or similar) (softshell pants can be combined with light “roomy” rain pants)
- Insulation jacket, down or synthetic
- Warm gloves and thin gloves
- Warm hat, bandana and sun cap
- Lip protector and sunscreen
- Thermos and/or waterbottle (1.5 liters / day)
- Camera
- Blister kit (coach tejp/compeed or similar. Keep it light.)
- Snacks
- Avalanche kit: Tranciever, probe and shovel.
- Skiing gear: Boots, skins, skis and poles
